MAY UPDATE
Another 2 months have passed in the blink of an eye, so it’s time for a quick check-in to let everyone know I am still here, and more importantly, still writing!
ISOLATED
I have completed my latest horror tale, and I am overjoyed with how it turned out. After being a bit lazy and staying in my comfort zone with FORMULATION, I decided to try something new. ISOLATED is certainly different from my other work, and I will be sending Advance Reader Copies out in July. The blurb is in my last blog post, and because this is a Christmas-themed horror novella, I may wait until Dec to release it unless I am persuaded otherwise.
OTHER PROJECTS
With ISOLATED stewing before the last round of edits, I managed to complete the first draft of a WIP that has been giving me a headache for way too long. This novella is called ALL THE GIRLS, and the sense of achievement from finishing it was astronomical! I started writing this one two years ago, and it came to nothing. I tried again last year, and part of it morphed into FORMULATION. This year, however, I succeeded, and my mind is now at peace!
May and June will be all about getting ISOLATED ready for release, and putting the finishing touches to ALL THE GIRLS.
I then plan to start one of my more ambitious projects, which will take me well outside my comfort zone. Deep waters, here I come!
CAMPER VAN (working title) - A ‘devilish’ folk horror.
MEATHEAD - My first extreme horror novella.
VOID - My first horror novel (85% written).
SOCIAL MEDIA / PROMOTION
I have not been as active on social media this year because my priority has been writing. Although I understand the importance of self-promotion and always do my best to support other authors, it’s tough to find the right balance. I am in no rush to be successful as an author, nor do I expect it. That said, if I could make a living from my writing, it would truly be the dream. For now, though, I get to write the stories I want to write, without pressure or deadlines. Success for me is finishing a story and seeing my work appreciated. A story does not exist without a reader. Each sale and review is a real privilege for me, and I thank you all for your support.

IN CLOSING
As always, thanks so much for your continued support, whether you are a reader, fellow writer, or blogger. Every mention, share, like, review, or sale goes a long way towards ensuring I keep creating more horror.
Yours in horror,
Daniel Lorn
