AUGUST ROUND UP

As the UK Summer draws to a close, I'd like to give you a short update on how my stories are doing and my plans for the next few months.

SINS OF THE WRONGED

My latest horror novella was released into the wild on Wed 31 Jul 24. Sins of the Wronged was a challenging project for me in countless ways, and I am overwhelmed by the response to it through its first month in print. I didn’t do much promotion for this story, mainly as it felt different to my other work, but readers have found it, and many of them love this tale of psychological terror. Amazingly, Sins of the Wronged sold at least one copy per day in August, obliterating the number of my previous releases in their first month.

Thank you to all who have given this story a chance. I will continue NOT to promote Sins of the Wronged, as I would prefer readers to stumble across it after enjoying one of my other stories.

MY OTHER TALES OF TERROR

Red now leads the charge for sales and reads, and I would love to see this story reaching 50 ratings on either Goodreads or Amazon by the end of the year.

Obsession is my second-most-read story, and this pleases me in particular, as it was my debut release and was never proofread or edited by anyone other than… me!

Pact is finding new readers each month, which is fantastic. I never had much hope for this nasty little story, but it has quickly become a favourite for many readers.

See You Later is a slow burner, and readers who enjoy supernatural horror seem to love this one.

WHAT’S NEXT

I rarely write during the summer; however, I am ready to commence my next project… soon… but what will it be?

I have many WIPs that have been neglected for several months. Starting this week, I plan to go through each WIP in detail to see which one deserves to be completed.

My WIPs include Folk Horror, Psychological Horror, Supernatural Horror, and Extreme Horror. Feel free to contact me if there is a specific genre you would like me to focus on next.

I also have a Christmas-themed supernatural horror novelette that could be released in time for the festive season if I find the time.

TO THE READERS

I continue to be amazed by the response to my stories this year, and I feel truly blessed to have built up such a healthy readership. Self-publishing is a tough gig, but knowing that people are out there connecting with my worlds of horror motivates me to continue this exciting journey. Please continue to share the word about your favourite authors on social media, and don’t forget to leave them a few stars.

*Raising you all a large glass of the RED stuff!*

Yours in horror,

Daniel Lorn
